COMPLAINT OF ROUGi RIDING

ADELAIDE, May 13. The South Australian Jockey Club stewards yesterday held an inquiry into a. complaint of rough riding in the Goodwood Handicap on the previous Saturday. No fewer than sixteen jockeys, including A, Reed, were asked to explain Reed rode Verdique, whose owner made the complaint. All the riders, except Reed, who is in Melbourne, declared that the race was cleanly run. The stewards dismissed lire complaint.

MOON EE VALLEY MEETING

MELBOURNE, .May 13. At the Moonee Valley races the Banya Hurdles resulted: SAROKOS, 10.0 (Zeally) ... ... 1 Riawe’na, 9.9 (Healey) 2 Harding, 9.7 (Dynon) 3 Eight started, including the New Zealander Spring Abbey. Although he was left at the barrier, Sarokos made up the lost ground and won comfortably by three lengths and a-half, with three-quarters of a length between second and third. Spring Abbey was sixth.
