DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE The recent increased demand for all the gilt-edge securities and better-class industrial slocks was continued this morning. Bank of New Z.ealands were in strong demand at Sis, but no shares were offered for sale. Following a reported sale of E.S. and A’s at £5 Bs, further buyers operated at £5 7s. but the market hardened. Westport Coals had an advanced buying offer, and the Wcstport-titockton issues also had bettor inquiry. Canterbury Meat ordinary shares provided the only seller in the meat preserving section. tn the miscellaneous section, D.T.C. shares and Dunedin-Kaikorai Trams have persistent buyers. Dunedin Stock Exchange Proprietary were for sale at 48s. This company announces a final dividend at the rate of 5 per cent, per annum —a reduction on the rate paid last year. Increased activity is apparent in certain gold mining shares, notably Mahakipawas, fiell-Kilgours, Nevis Diesels, Nokomais, and Waitahus.
