CHINA AND JAPAN EFFORT TO SETTLE OUTSTANDING QUESTIONS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SHANGHAI, May 10. (Received May 11, at 10 a.m.) Following recent conversations at Nanking between Mr Ariyoshi, the Japanese Minister in China and Wang Abing-wei and other National Government officials, everything now indicates that direct negotiations between China and Japan for settling outstanding questions in North China will be commenced this month. It is understood that the problems do not include the status of Mauchukuo.
