SCHOOL ADMISSION AGE
PUBLICITY CAMPAIGN PROPOSED [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 10. The need for publicity was stressed at the conference of tho Now Zealand Educational Institute to-day when the following resolution was carried : “ That the executive be recommended to spend on publicity not more than £2,000, and that tho scope of the subcommittee to be set up on admission to school at five or six years old be widened to take in control of publicity activities.” These activities were indicated in the executive’s publicity report, which was considered in committee. The conference also carried a resolution stating that, whenever necessary, the executive should endeavour to arrange for leave of absence on full pay for the president of the institute and to supply the salary of the teacher relieving the president out of funds for general publicity purposes.
