Speaking at Droitwich Lord 'Moyniban stated that doctors cloaked their ignorance of rheumatism with a multitude of words. \et its' treatment in Britain aloue cost £20,000,000 a year, and it was responsible for one-sixth ol the maladies which disabled workers. This did not take into account the burdens of sickness, crippling—often humiliating—deformity and pain.
