WINTER MEETING CONCLUDED DEGREASED RETURNS Tlie weather broke fmo yesterday for the postponed second day of the ForImry Park Trotting Club's Winter Meeting, and, though a cold westerly breeze made the climatic conditions cold and unpleasant, there was a good attendance until about 1.30, when a drizzling rain set in and continued the remainder of the afternoon. The track had made a wonderful improvement, and just getting into fair order for the big match between Walla Walla and Harold Logan, but towards the close of the day’s racing was again in a very bad state. The match between the two champions created a great deal of interest, and both horses and owners were given a good reception both before and after the race. Both gate and total isator receipts suffered as compared with the ' corresponding day last year, the former being less by about £l4O. Agile was tho smartest out, and led John Dee, Cliechahco, Lena Bingen, and Chiming Billy past the stand the first time; Entering the last lap Agile was two lengths clear of Lena Bingen, Chechahco, Scotfree, and Camera. As they entered the final lap and as they raced along' the hack Scotfree moved up into second place just in front of Camera. Agile was lirst into the straight from Scotfree and All Sunshine, and then drew out to win by two lengths and a-half from All Sunshine, who beat Scotfree by a length. Master Roy was a little slow to go away, and Worthy Queen and Great Author led Raydus and the favourite for a mile and a-half, the field racing in close order well out in the middle of the track. Then Ayrmont Chimes made a dive on the inside, and with less than half a mile to go joined Haydns and Worthy Queen in the lead. Going to the far turn, Raydus took charge, and, leading into the straight, drew right away to win by six lengths from Ayrmont Chimes, who beat Waress by a length. Worthy Queen and Master Roy were next. Times: 4min 49 2-ssec, linin 48 2-ssec, 4min 52 4-ssec.

Entering the last lap Sea Gift, Kotinga, and Mother’s Boy were almost on terms in front, with Sister -Mary and Hakatere next. The last named moved up fast racing along the back, and was just behind the favourite after rounding the far turn. Sea Gift was a length in front of Hakatere turning for home, where the latter skipped and lost some ground. The favourite drew away, and won bv two lengths from Hakatere, who finished on well after getting back to his stride; and Kotinga was fifteen lengths away third. Queen Author broke half a mile from home, and Sunbloom, William Tell, and King Mae were almost on even terms racing across the top, with Raider, Gunmetnl, and Margaret Bell close up next. The latter broke at the end of two furlongs, and Chenwood followed suit by breaking at the end of three furlongs. Tins left Peter Locanda with a lead of five lengths from Ayrmont Chimes, Rollo, and Grand Canyon. The field closed up at the entrance to the final lap, and racing along the back Peter Locanda was showing the way to Chenwood, Rollo, and Grand Canyon. Grand Canyon got up on the rails and headed Peter Locanda racing across the -top. the two leading Ayrmont Chimes and Hollo into the straight. The last-named finished very strongly and beat Grand Ganvon by "halt a length. Ayrmont Chimes was two lengths off third and Peter Locanda fourth. The jest were pulled up.
