CALEDONIAN BOWLING CLUB
There was a large attendance of bowlers at the Caledonian Club’s pavilion last night on the occasion of the annual smoke social and pl'esentation of prizes won during the past season. The president of the club (Mr F. J. Forrester) was in the chair, and extended a welcome to all present. Bowlers from the various Dunedin and suburban clubs were present in large numbers. . Mr H. Rowley, immediate past-presi-dent of the New Zealand Bowling Council, addressed the gathering, and Mr W. Connor (West Harbour) also spoke on behalf of the council, and congratulated the Caledonian Club on winning . the Saturday interclub competition shield. An enjoyable musical and vocal programme was given by Messrs Paris, Hawes, Russell, M'Donald, and Angell
(songs), and Clarkson and M Bean (cornet solo). , The evening was interspersed with short speeches by visiting bowlers, who referred to the high standard of bowling shown bv members of the Caledonian Club and to the splendid feeling of comradeship that, existed among all the clubs. , All the prize-wianers were congratulated on their success on the greens last season. , , A vote of thanks was passed to the lady supporters of the club and to the performers. ■ J
