During a .storm over the week-end a heavy gust of wind travelling at eightyseven miles an hour was registered at Valencia, Ireland, and winds of gale force wore general throughout the British Isles. During the height of the storm yesterday it was found necessary to pour oil on the broken waters of Bridlington Harbour to enable motor fishing boats caught by heavy seas to make harbour safely. Several small vessels were in difficulties around the British coasts.
