HUMAN SKULL FOUND. A human skull, with a portion fractured, was found in the Sumner estuary. It has been handed over to the police, who are investigating. It had been lying in the mud and was very discoloured. It may be that of someone who disappeared fairly recently. On the other hand, one authority inclined to the belief that it belongs to a Maori female.—Christchurch Press Association telegram.
