TUESDAY, MAY 8. (Before Mr J. E. Bartholomew, S.M.) DEFAULT CASES. Judgment (with costs) was given for the plaintiffs in the following cases Green Island Borough Council v, Gladys May Burt (Burnside), £lB 18s, rates; J. R. Brown v. L. G. Clulee-Perrins (Christchurch), 14s 4d, goods; Brown, Ewing, and Co. Ltd. v. F. P. Dawson (Kurow). £2 19s 6d, goods; Edith Gertrude James v. A. E. Smithers, 6s 6d, milk; Nathaniel Paterson v. G. R. M'Rae. £7, rent; Charles' H. Tucker and Co. Ltd. v. R. W. Mackay, Bs, C ° StS ' FAMILY DISPUTE. The case in which Alice Budge proceeded against her husband, David Budge, in a claim for possession of some furniture and damages for its wrongful detention, was concluded. Mr J. P. Ward appeared for the plaintiff and Mr C. J. L. White for the defendant. Mr Ward said that all the articles which the court had ordered to be delivered had now been handed over with the exception of one ornament. Mr White said that the failure to hand oyer this article _ -was probably due to a misunderstanding. It would be produced within, half an hour. Judgment was entered for the plaintiff for £2 12s 6d, reducible to £2 if the missing ornament were returned within twenty-four hours. The defendant was ordered to pay court costs of £2 Is, witness’s expenses (£1 10s 6d), and solicitor’s fee (£4 3s).
