WATER COLOUR EXHIBITION
Dunedin artists and patrons of art will be interested to know that an ex-, Jiibition of the work of Tom Garrett, rated by Australian critics as one of the Commonwealth’s foremost and most individual painters, is to be: held in this city. The collection will be show'll m Begg’s room, and the exhibition will be opened by Mr Percy Elalsted at 3 o’clock on Friday afternoon. The Sydney ‘ Morning Herald ’ critic, discussing /.Mr Garrett’s pictures, praises their-‘“individual charm ” and “ subtle atmospheric effects,” adding that “ the colour in some of them is surpassingly lovely.” 1 Last year a Boston (U-.5..A.Y ■ collector visiting Australia' took fifteen Garrett pictures back with her. The exhibition will remain open for a fortnight.
