(a) The above game was played between J. Gall, Lesmahagow, and W. Purcell, Idaho, U-S.A.. by correspondence. I noticed it in an old draughts ‘ World.’ At the 25th move Mr Gall suggests if ho had played 9-14, 18-9, 1-5, Black’s game would have been good. Now I give 4-8 to win for Black, with a few variations. I hope the critics will find it interesting.
