TO-MORROW'S FOOTBALL
RUGBY Two interesting games will be staged at Carisbrook to-morrow afternoon, provided tbe ground is in a fit state for the both games. At 3 p.m. the University A will meet Zingan-Richmond, The Students gave a much more inspiring display last Saturday, .and the changes made in the team have effected a great improvement. The Zingari have pleased their supporters by their displays so far this season; the forwards possess plenty of dash and more than held their own against both Kaikorai and Taieri, while the backs have shown distinct promise. The curtainraiser will be the match, Alhambra v. Pirates. The Bamas created a surprise on the first Saturday by defeating ’Varsity, though last Saturday they only managed to snatch a last-minute victory from Dunedin, Pirates, whilo being a shade light in the forwards, have given bright displays in both their games, whilst the backs, with a shade more thrust, should prove dangerous. This should also provide a. bright exhibition. .. Should the weather not permit of both games being played at Carisbrook the Pirates v. Alhambra match will be played at Tahuna Park at 3 p.m. On the University Oval Kaikorai will meet ’Varsity B. Whilo Kaikorai have not so far shown the form that was expected of them, they have the material, and should yet develop into a strong combination. * At Mosgiel the local residents should witness a good game between the Taieri and Dunedin. On the North Ground Southern will meat Union. The Southern gave a greatly improved display last week, and their supporters are now confident that they will weld into a good all-round -side. Union also are a much improved side- . . An additional attraction at Cansbrook will be the Dunediu Civil Service Harriers’ one-mile postal cup handicap, which will b© run at half time. Brown, winner of the New Zealand Marathon race, and many prominent figures in athletic circles.
