HORSE TRAINER DIES FROM INJURIES. John Armstrong, aged fifty-eight, married, a horse trainer, of Spreydon, died in the hospital last evening a* the result ofi head injuries when he was thrown by the horse Gappy Ricks during schooling operations on Tuesday at Riccarton. The vehicle, which was owned*, by Messrs Turner and Growers, Ltd., was proceeding up Queen street and Mr Ponder was knocked down, striking his head on the kerb of the safety zone.
