MARCONI'S HOPE
WIRELESS SURPRISE SECRET EXPERIMENTS. LONDON, April 26. “ I hope I will surprise you within two years, as I surprised you in 1901 with transmission across the Atlantic, ’ is the confident message of the Marchese Marconi. He is on his yacht Elettra at present preparing to carry out secret experiments with microwaves, and is confident that the result will be one of the most sensational discoveries he has made during his career. There is a special guard on the Elettra while the engineers carry out the most important wireless extensions. Marconi’s wife and the few experimenters are the only people in the secret. Even Signor Mussolini, whom Marconi often visits, has not been enlightened, but it is believed that the experiments arc concentrated on the exploitation of millimetre micro-waves.
