FINE IMPOSED
FEE FOR VETERINARY OPERATION Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. "SYDNEY, May 2. Dr Ring was fined 60s, with 10s costs, his solicitor asking that no conviction be recorded under a special section of the Act. He said the operations were performed solely owing to a lifelong friendship between Dr Ring and Mr J. T. Jamieson. Similar operations had been performed in New Zealand with successful results. The magistrate • declined to release the defendant, saying that he knew the Jaw and accepted a fee for the operations. [On the eve of his return to New Zealand after having operated on the racehorses Deep Respect and Koda Pen to cure’ them of ‘‘ roaring,” Dr W. C. Ring was subpoenaed to attend the Central Summons Court to-day. The information contained in the subpoena deals with that section of the regulations requiring any person to be registered by the Veterinary Surgeons Board of New South Wales before practising in this State.]
