SENATE ABOLITION BILL AN AMENDMENT DEFEATED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, LONDON, May 2. Mr Cosgrave, in the Dail, moved an amendment to the Senate AbolitionBill making a three-fifths majority vote in the Dail necessary for the removal of any member of the judiciary. Mr O’Higgins pointed out that failing such precautions, the wobbling will of one man woud rule throughout the country, and his vindictiveness would decide everyone’s destiny. ' Mr Fitzgerald declared that the Bill, if enacted, would give Mr De Valera more power than the Tsar or any European Government, obviating the necessity of his ever again facing the electors. V Mr De Valera applied the closure, and the amendment was defeated by 58 to 42.
