Nearly sixty nations were represented at a preliminary meeting of the London conference of the International Union for the Protection of Industrial Property. A plenary session of the conference will take place in the Locarno room at the Foreign Office. The last conference of the kind was held in 1925, and this is the first occasion on which the union has met in Lopdon. The subjects to be discussed are important, but highly technical, matters relating to the protection of patent rights, designs, trade marks, and other kindred matters coming within the scope of the union. Sir Frederick Leith Ross heads the British delegation.
