AUDACIOUS BURGLARY
ONLY PETTY CASH SECURED [Per United Press Association.] * AUCKLAND, May 3. An audacious burglary was carried out last night in a laundry company’s premises in Sussex street. The burglars levered the sliding door off its rails to gain entrance, and then carried the small safe from the office and down a flight of six steps into the factory. They could have been seen by any passer-by through the glass window,' They removed the safe 160 ft across the factory floor, using a truck for the purpose, and then carried it down into the electric fuse room, which has a concrete floor. There they burst -it open with explosive, removed: the money it contained, and departed through the back door. While in the office they ransacked every drawer and strewed the contents on the floor. , The safe contained onlyspetty cash, about £5 in all. X
