FORMER ACCOUNTANT. CONVICTED OF THEFT [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, May 3. , In the Supreme Court to-day the trial was concluded of Leslie Cecil Johnson, formerly accountant and organiser of the , Gold Band Taxi Company, who faced twenty-four charges of the theft of'moneys totalling £426, belonging to the proprietor of the company (C. S. Trillo), and eight charges of forgery. ■ ... The jury returned a vgrdict or guilty on the four charges of theft that the Crown had particularised, and the prisoner was remanded for sentence till to-morrow. • , On the other theft charges there was a formal verdict of not guilty. A stay of proceedings was applied for on the forgery counts.
