SAWYERS BAY NOTES
A particularly bright and' entertaining concert Was given by Miss Ruby Baxter’s party in the Sawyers Bay Hall on Thursday evening "to a large and appreciative audience. Encores were frequently requested and generously acceded to. Mr Eric Sudden appropriately welcomed the performers, and the following programme was submitted, Miss Mona Brunton being the accompanist:—Song, Miss Jean M‘Lay; recitation, Miss Gwen Smith; violin solo, Miss Nancy Hobson; character song, Miss Joy Gray; song, Mr Roland Dunbar; dance. Miss Ethel Todd; humorous song, Miss Maysie Walker; interval; juggling humourist, Paul Reno and Claire; song, Miss .lean M‘Lay; recitation, Miss Gwen Smith; song, Mr Roland Dunbar; violin solo, Miss Nancy Hobson; song, Mr Les. Dunbar; humorous song, Miss Maysie Walker; dance. Miss Ethel Todd; duet, Messrs Roland and Les. Dunbar. At the conclusion of the programme Mr Sudden moved a hearty vote of thanks to the concert party. Mr H. Hudson has recently removed his tannery to a more convenient position adjacent to the Sawyers Bay railway station, and is at present considerably enlarging the premises on the new site.
