RIFLE SHOOTING

DUNEDIN DEFENCE CLUB The Dunedin Defence Rifle Cub shot the second competition for prizes presented by Captain G. C. Proudfoot and Mr A. J. Shaw on Saturday afternoon. There was an attendance of twenty-two, and seven shots (two optional aighters) each were fired at 300yds, 500yds, and 600yds. Except for very dull light, shooting conditions were fair. Several good scores were registered, notably Riflemen W. A. Graham, R. G. Graham, and M. W. Denton 34 each at 300yds, and Riflemen E. Leslie and G-. N. Smith 33 each at 500yds; also Riflemen J. M'Knight, A. J. Robson, and G. N. Smith 32 each at 600yds. Rifleman W. A. Graham headed the day’s aggregate with 97, closely followed by Rifleman J. M'Knight 98. Following are the highest scores: —
