THE STRAITS SETTLEMENT DONATION FOR IMPERIAL DEFENCE Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SINGAPORE, February 7. (Received February 8, at 10.30 a.m.) The Government of the Straits Settlement is making a donation of 500,000 dollars to the Home Government for the purpose of Imperial defence. It will be recalled that the colony made a free gift of the site for the naval base, towards the cost of which the Federated Malay States contributed £2,000,000.
