WALLS-LYNN TRIUMPH
BEH TRAVERS'S FAME ‘ THARK • 1 Thark,’ the motion picture production of the Ben Travers farce which had such a brilliant run in London, comes to the St. Janies Theatre on Friday. In it are seen Tom Walls and Ralph Lynn, whose combined efforts as comedians, with Mary Brough, the popular old lady of the screen, and Robertson Hare, with his dry humour, keep the fun fast and furious all the time. Ben Travers is admittedly a farce-creating genius, with many successes to his credit, but ‘ Thark ’ is undoubtedly the most laughable item he has given to stage and screen. From beginning to end the world’s greatest team of comedians keep the audience in roars of laughter. The story concerns Thark Manor, which has the reputation of being haunted. To disprove the story, the owner and his nephew agree to sleep in the haunted room. One could hardly believe the comical situations that arise in this room, but, as in the past_ once again the antics of Tom Walls and Ralph Lynn produce what is a most delightful film. In support there is a most entertaining travelogue, ‘ With Cobham to Kivu,’ which - elsewhere has never failed to receive loud applause.
