GIRL STOWAWAY
NO MONEY TO COME TO PARENTS JUST WALKED ABOARD [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, February 6. A girl stowaway, Lizetta Anderson, appeared. in the Police Court charged with being an undesirable alien. She was remanded until Saturday. Lizetta explained to a reporter that she is a, writer. “ I used to write for the. children’s sections of the Sydney papers, and they published some of my poems,” she said. “ Then I_started to write a book of fairy stories, and I stayed in Australia after father and mother went to Auckland, because I wanted to have a book published. No one would buy my book. I took it to publishers, but they said they did not want it. After that I got angry and tore my book up. Then I had no way of getting money to’ go to New Zealand, so I went on the Monowai as a stowaway. I just walked on board, and no one knew I did not have a ticket until 1 told them. It was a nice trip. The stewards paid my fare, and 1 was given enough money to go to Auckland as soon as I can get out of this bother.”
