AIRCRAFT CARRIER FURIOUS A SERIES OF MISHAPS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. PORT OF SPAIN (Trinidad), February 4. Safe in port after a series of mishaps that delayed her for three days, the aircraft carrier H.M.S. Furious on Sunday night officially reported the loss of one plane and damage to two others during the Atlantic crossing to join the British West Indies Squadron on its annual spring cruise. The troubles began m the Bay of Biscay, where Flying-officer J. S. Dewar was washed overboard m a storm. The destroyer H.M.S. Watchman swerved in and hauled the nearlydrowned man aboard. When one day from Gibraltar lyingofficer G. W. Montague nosed-dived into the sea during exercises. The plane sank, but again the Watchman came to the rescue, saving the pilot and the observer. Two planes were damaged m deck landings during regular flyii'K e * er " cises, while minor fires caused further delay, one fireman being seriously injured.
