COPIED BY JAPAN
LANCASHIRE DESIGNS IMPORTERS' METHODS EXPOSED Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, February 5. (Received February 6, at 9 a.m.) Mr H. J. Grenwall, cabling from Japan to the ‘Daily Express,’ says: “ Lancashire complains that Japan copies her designs, but she does not know who is chiefly to blame. Lancashire sends patterns and samples to the dominions and colonies, and the importers there rush the samples to Japan and ask for copies with the best quotations.” Mr Greenwall adds: “I have the fullest proof of the assertion that at the present moment there are Australian and New York importers picking up samples of fancy goods. They will take them to Japan and have copies made.”
