FASCISTS AND SOCIALISTS A CRITICAL POSITION Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, February 5. The ‘ Daily Herald’s 1 Madrid correspondent says; “Spain is passing the most critical hour since the overthrow of the monarchy. On the one hand are tiie forces of Fascism, under Senor Robles, who is publicly denouncing the Republican regime, and on the other hand are the forces of Socialism, under Senor Prieto, who declared on Sunday that the workers would soon be masters of Spain, increasing the tension of the situation and leading all workers to fall in line under Senor Prieto and work together against Fascism. Socialist newspapers are calling desperately on the Liberals to defend what the revolution gained. There have been numerous acts of terrorism throughout Spaiu. Nine trams have been set on fire in the streets of Barcelona in fifteen days.”
