AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
[Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, February 5. ' A verdict of guilty was returned by the jury in the Supreme Court when Benjamin Kirkbride was charged before Mr Jusice Ostler with assault causing actual bodily harm. He was remanded For sentence. . The evidence for the prosecution went to show that a fracas had occurred in a boarding house at Tinakori road on August 26 last when it was alleged that a drunken man had kicked and punched Clifford Baxter, who also lived in the house, breaking his leg. . The man on whom the alleged attack was made appeared in court on crutches and was permitted to givg his evidence seated. He stated that he was in hospital for about three months and had two operations on his leg. He was still receiving massage treatment.
