WOOL MARKETS
MR DEVEREUX'S REPORT TRADE POSITION SOUND Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, February 4. (Received February 5, at 10.5 a.m.) Mr W. P. Devereux (Australian wool growers’ representative) reports “ Easier tendencies have developed in most wool markets, partly as the result of profit taking, the financial strain of early overseas purchases, and currency uncertainties. The trade position is sound. Bradford quotations for merino tops have a somewhat irregular tendency, with very little new business. Cross-bred yarns are very quiet, with prices a shade easier. Continental futures markets are quiet, currency fluctuations being the disturbing factor.”
