ROWING IN AUSTRALIA
NEW SOUTH WALES EIGHTS SYDNEY, February 3. The New South Wales champion eights was rowed on the Nepean River yesterday. Sydney, stroked by Jack Gouldiug, a former leading sculler, won in convincing style by six lengths from Mosman and University in the record time of 15min Msec for three miles. Herbert Turner won the heavyweight champion sculls and Stan Hoskins the light-weight sculls. WRESTLING A DRAWN CONTEST SYDNEY, February 4. At the Newtown Stadium a thrilling six-round contest between/Tom Lurich and Joe Dawson ended in. a draw, both gaining a fall.
