HIGH SCHOOL OLD BOYS

EXECUTIVE MEETING A meeting of the executive of the Otago High School Old Boys’ Society was held on Saturday night, Mr W. R. Brugh presiding. Mr J. M. Fraser wrote thanking the committee for its letter congratulating him on being appointed president of the New Zealand Cricket Council. —Received. Mr N. Davis wrote thanking the committee for its letter congratulating him on being selected as a Rhodes scholar. Tlic Tiinaru High School Old Boys’ Society wrote congratulating the society on one of its old boys having been selected as one of the 1933 Rhodes scholars. —Received with thanks. Messrs E. Webster, E. C. Reynolds, W. Watters, Colonel W. J. Strong, Colonel E. R. Smith, and J. Rivers were appointed to attend the school on Wednesday to welcome the new rector on behalf of the society. It was also resolved that a luncheon be held at an early date for the purpose of enabling old boys to welcome the new rector of the school. Messrs E. Webster, J. C. H. Somerville, W. Watters, L. M. Satterthwaite, J. Rivers, Dr Begg, and A. J. Gillman were appointed a sub-com-mittee to make the necessary arrangements in connection with this function. It was reported that the new registered design for the old boys’ blazer would ho available during the coming year, and the secretary was instructed to advise applicants for blazers that the new blazer would bn available shortly.
