VIOLONCELLO AND PIANOFORTE RECITAL
Performers new to Dunedin—Misses Elvira Wycherley and Ormi Reid—will present an interesting programme or violoncello and pianoforte music in Begg’s Concert Chamber on Thursday evening next at 8 o’clock. Reports from northern centres where these artists have appeared indicate that their musicianship is of a high order, "and that those who attend this recital will have an evening’s enjoyment of beautiful music, played by experts. Miss Wycherley has won most favourable Press reports and criticisms wherever she has appeared, and it is interesting to note that she intends settling m Dunedin and taking up teaching here. Her items on the ’cello include Senate ’ (Caporalc), ‘Variations Symphoniques ’ (Boellman), _ ‘ Elegie ’ (Faure), and ‘ Kol Nidrei ’ (Bruch). Miss Ormi Reid, as accompanist and solo pianist, has made many appearances with Miss Wycherley, and her playing also is certain to prove a delight to the audience. Miss Reid’s programme includes modern and classical items hv such composers as Debussy, Chopin,' Bach. etc. The box plan is now; open at Begg’s.
