The cyclone located yestjerday • on the coast of New South Wales is apparently moving southwards, and is likely to miss New Zealand. The wqather, however, should gradually beconio unsettled. Forecast: Moderate, hut increasing, northwest to northerly ■ winds, later reaching gale force in places. Weather fine at first, but gradually, becoming unsettled, with rain developing. The interisland express steamer Rangatira reached Lyttelton from Wellington at 6.45 a.m. to-day. Passengers and mail for the south connected with the express. MAUNGANUI FOR WELLINGTON. Word has been received that the Maunganui, en route from San Francisco to Wellington, left Rarotonga on January 30. She is due at Wellington on Monday morning, and will sail for Sydney on the following afternoon. WAIKOUAITI LEAVES SYDNEY. The Union Company advises that the Waikouaiti, which loaded at Newcastle and Sydney, left the latter port at 7 p.m. on Thursday for Bluff, Dunedin, Timaru, and Lyttelton. The vessel’s cargo includes transhipments ex the Yaye Maru, Ballarat, Talleyrand, Ormonde, Commissaire Ramel, and Taipihg. The Waikouaiti is due here on Wednesday. RUAHINE AT AUCKLAND. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ruahine arrived at Auckland yesterday from Liverpool. In addition to passengers for New Zealand, the vessel has cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers. AORANGI LEAVES VANCOUVER. The C.-A. motor liner Aoraugi left Vancouver on January 31 for Honoluhi, Suva, Auckland, and Sydney. She is due at Auckland on February 18. MAKURA LEAVES PAPEETE. The Union Company’s R.M.S. Makura, en route from Sydney and Wellington to San Francisco, left Papeete on January 30. She is due at her destination on February 9. PORT GISBORNE AT LONDON. The Port Gisborne, which left Wellington on December 22 for England, arrived at London on January 27. NORFOLK REACHES LONDON. The Federal steamer Norfolk, which left Napier on December 19 for London via the Panama Canal, reached her destination on January 27. C. AND D. SHIPS FOR NEW ZEALAND. The Port Pirie and the Port Curtis were expected to leave the United Kingdom on February 1, in ballast, for New Zealand via the Cape of Good Hope. The Port Fremantle is to leave London on February 14 for Suva, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Nelson. She is due at Dunedin about March 28.

OTAIO LEAVES GLASGOW. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s motor-ship Otaio is reported to have left Glasgow for Liverpool on Saturday to complete loading for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Timaru. The vessel is scheduled to clear Liverpool to-day, and she is due at Auckland on March 14. BREEZE DISPUTE SETTLED. The dispute between the crew which brought out the motor-ship Breeze and the owners was amicably settled yesterday morning, the owners conceding the demand of the men that they should be paid in New Zealand currency plus the English rate of exchange. One of the A.B.’s in the crew holds a master’s certificate and another a second mate’s certificate. COASTWISE MOVEMENTS. Totara, sailed last evening for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and New Plymouth. Waipiata, arrived early this afternoon from Auckland. She is to sail for Bluff on Monday, and will then proceed to Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. • Waimarino left Auckland last night for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and’ Bluff. She is due on Wednesday, and will sail on the same day for Bluff. Returning to this port on Saturday, she will load and sail on the same day for , Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton,. Picton, Wellington, and Auckland. ' Gale is due from Wellington on Monday. She will load and sail the same day for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. Breeze will load at Dunedin on Wednesday and sail for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. Storm is due from Bluff on Saturday next to load cargo for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. HUNTINGDON DELAYED. The Huntingdon was to have sailed from Port Chalmers for Napier early this morning to continue her Homeward loading. Her departure was delayed by a thick fog at the Heads, however, but the vessel was to sail as soon as the weather was clear. WAINUI FOR BLUFF. The Union Company advise that the Wainui is to arrive at Bluff from Melbourne on Monday morning. She is to sail later in the day for Dunedin. Lyttelton, and Wellington.
