HAZARDOUS VENTURE
THE OUTBOARD MOTOR BOAT TRAGEDY [Pe« United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, February 2. Remarking at the inquest on Harold Clarke that from the evidence he had arrived at the conclusion that the attempt to cross Cook Strait in the outboard motor boat Miss Wellington was a hazardous venture considering the frailness of the craft, the coroner (Mr E. Gilbertson) returned a verdict ot death from exhaustion, produced by protracted immersion in tlio sea due to the boat capsizing. He described the conduct of the survivor, Mr F. Barrett-Wood, who supported the deceased in the water until they were picked up by. the colhoi Klwitea, as highly commendable.
