DUNEDIN JUNIOR-ORCHESTRA
When this orchestra was founded at .the beginning of 1933, even its most sanguine supporters did not anticipate the tremendous .success that the venture was destined to enjoy. The two concerts given Were a revelation to those present, the enthusiasm of tho members, their finished playing, and their stage discipline being remarkable. _ Mr Roy Spackman, the conduetor, is full of enthusiasm for the new year’s work and has already chosen programmes that ' .will be ‘ most , enjoyable both to players and their audiences. A great deal of the spade work necessary in launching a new society has been done, and • the orchestra is now a musical organisation that plays with a unity and finish that many an adult society might envy. In order to give all young players an opportunity to join the orchestra, Mr Spackman will be at Begg’s Concert Chamber next Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.,,t0 interview new members. Any information about joining may be had on application to Mr James Himburg at Messrs Chas. Begg and Co.’s, or, from Mr Roy Spackman at his studio.
