HIGH COMMISSIONER'S SALARY
NO INCREASE CONTEMPLATED [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, January 31. Suggestions have been made from time to time that the salary paid to the High Commissioner is inadequate, and in an interview on relinquishing the office in London Sir Thomas Wilford joined in the protest. This interview was brought before the notice of the Prime Minister to-day, and lie was asked if the Government was consider* ing making any increase in salary. Mr Forbes’s only comment was that the Government was not considering increasing the High Commissioner’s salary.
