FIRST YEAR IN OFFICE . CELEBRATIONS ARRANGED Prfets 'Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. BERLIN, January k). Herr Hitler’s first year in office will he celebrated to-day at a meeting of all the Nazi members of the Reichstag at the Kroll Opera House, when Herr Hitler will sum up his achievements. Elsewhere there will be numerous Nazi demonstrations on military lines.
COMMENT BY‘THE TIMES' LONDON, January 30. ‘ The Times,’ reviewing the first year of Nazi rule, says: “Herr Hitler has bent Germany to his will and is acknowledged more completely master of the country than even the great Bismarck. Certainly he has given it a greater appearance of unity and has moulded the best with some of the worst instincts of the. German race into a powerful national unit which responds swiftly to hia leadership. It is generally recog- . nised that Herr Hitler’s fundamental aim is the restoration of the Germans’ belief in themselves and making Germany respected, perhaps feared, abroad.” , .
