PRIEST FOR ISLAND I TO STAY THREE YEARS. (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. RUGBY, January 27. The Rev. Harold Wilde sailed from Southampton yesterday in the liner Atlantis, which, during a fifty-five days’ pleasun cruise, will call at the remote Pacific Island, Tristan da Cunha. Mr Wilde will serve as priest to the island’s scanty population of sixty-six inhabitants for at least three years. He will take with him twelve tons of stores and two lifeboats, in addition to two pairs of rabbits, some fowls, musical instruments, books, and cricket and football gear. He also hopes to set up a wireless receiving and transmitting station on the island.
