AWARDS APPROVED • Last night’s meeting of the Otago Head Centre of the Royal Life Saving Society was attended by Messrs H. H. Henderson (in the chair), 1). Bannatyne, A. Thomas, A. Findlay, J. Pereira, S. Brown, R. A. Baker, E. C. Isaacs, C. Durand, Bro. Brophy, Misses M. Collett and M. Mathiesori, and Mr P. A. Mathieson (secretary). Mr Henderson stated that he would make arrangements for the sub committee appointed for the purpose to bring down a report in connection with the holding of a public meeting on the question of raising funds for providing further life saving equipment on the beaches. The Zenith Amateur Swimming Club was granted affiliation, the Chairman expressing pleasure at the addition of another club. The Kiwi Amateur Swimming Club’s application for £2 2s for trophies for the life saving handicap on its next carnival programme was approved. The following awards wore approved : Primary Certificate.—Arthur Gladstone and Mark Lunn (Alexandra District High School). Intermediate Certificate. Helen Clare Douglas, Ruth Ireland, Mary Logan Jefferies, Janet Keen, Blossom M‘Leod, Dorothea Thomson, and Ruth Woodgate (Waitaki Girls’ High School), Letty.Stockdill, Torona Corke, Joyce Ramsay (Otago Girls’ High School), Harry Janies (St. Clair Life Saving Club), and Clive Elliott (Dunedin Amateur Swimming Club). Bronze Medallion.—Clare Douglas, Ruth Ireland, Mary Jefferies, Janet Keen, Blossom M'Leod, Dorothea Thomson, Lilian Uttley, and Ruth Woodgate (Waitaki Girls’ High School), Peter E. T. Mathiesou (Kiw,i Amateur Swimming Club). Henry James (St. Clair Life Saving Club), and Clive Elliott (Dunedin Amateur Swimming Club). First Class Instructor’s Certificate.— Joyce Robertson. Olga C.
