POULTRYMEN CONFER
SATISFACTION WITH RECENT LEGISLATION [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, January 24. The Poultry Association’s conference was opened to-day, when the president delivered a lengthy address, much of which was devoted to the satisfaction felt at the passage last session of the Poultry Runs Registration Act. The hope was expressed that various problems confronting the industry would be brought nearer a solution as a result of the conference, and that conditions in the industry would he measurably improved. As requested by the Minister of Agriculture the conference to-day recommended for submission to the GovernorGeneral the names of four men to represent the producers on the Poultry Board, one having been nominated by each of the four jprovincial councils of the association, and these were adopted. The names were not released for publication. The first board under the recentlyenacted Poultry Runs Registration Act is, now. being set up. The same procedure will not be adopted in filling future vacancies, the industry being by then organised. The conference decided to wait on the Minister of Agriculture to discuss the future constitution of the association, which will be affected by the changes now taking place in the industry as the result of recent legislation.
