General Bourgeois informed the Senate that Germany, in the event »t mobilisation in 1933-4, could place 20 or 30 strong divisions in the field soon thereafter, including disciplined youth labour camps. One hundred divisions, fully equipped and mechanised, and 500 aircraft were immediately available. Germany had 3,000 certificated pilots, or tenfold the civil requirements. The German youth were being educated m the spirit of 1913. General Bourgeois added: “You cannot superheat a nation’s entire youth without ,the risk i f explosion.”
