CALEDONIAN SOCIETY
ANNUAL SPORTS A meeting of the Games Committee of the Caledonian Society was held last evening to discuss arrangements for the society’s annual sports meeting, which is to be held on February 24. The president (Mr J. Hope) welcomed to the meeting a representation of ladies from the various business houses. No fewer than ten firms were represented, and several others had definitely promised their support. A sub-committee had previously interviewed the principals of the leading business houses and reported most encouragingly on the receptions it had . received. Various matters were dealt with regarding the arrangements for the meeting, and the programme of events was fully discussed. It was agreed that each house would have distinctive colours, and these will he announced at the next meeting to he held on Wednesday. In addition to interhouse events, band displays, Highland piping and dancing, and gymnastic display, it was decided to include in this year’s programme two professional and two amateur running events, as well as cycling events for both professionals and amateurs. A special feature of the programme would be the staging of several wrestling contests.
