LOAN CONVERSION
SPECIAL DRAINAGE BOARD MEETING A special meeting of the Drainage and Sewerage Board was held last night for the purpose of passing a resolution in regard to the provisions of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, authorising the board to issue now securities in respect to the loans comprised in the board’s loan conversion scheme, as approved by the Local Government Loans Board. The Mayor (the Rev. E. T. Cox) presided over an attendance which comprised the following:—Messrs •). W. Munro. W. A. Scott, J. J. Marlow, J. B. Ssacklock, M. Silverstone, W. Begg, and H. C. Campbell. The adoption of the Finance Committee’s special report dealing with the matter (already published) was moved by Mr Shaddock, who stated that the measure would take effect from April 1. The speaker also moved that the formal resolution be passed. Seconded by Mr Campbell, the motion, including the formal resolution, was carried.
