PRICE OF PETROL. Tiie Christchurch Petral Resellers’ Association to-clay increased the price of first grade petrol to Is lid.—Christchurch Press Association telegram. RAFFLING A CAKE. Conceiving the idea of raffling a cake which she had exhibited at the A. and P. Show in November, Aileen Mabel Carr committed a broach of the Gaming Act by commencing a lottery. For this offence she was fined £2 and costs by Mr Lowry, S.M., this morning. The police said the tickets were sold at 6d each, and the method of drawing the raffle "’as by means of two hats. Defendant said she had tried the raffle, as the cake cost 15s, and she had obtained no prize at the show.—Christchurch Press Association telegram.
