(Received January 17, at 11.30 a.m.) There were remarkable scenes; at Mackay last night when a spring tide, aided by a fierce wind, inundated parts of the town- The tide, which was the greatest in the history of the district, flooded the lower reaches of the city and homes near the banks of the Pioneer River. Stores were also inundated and many motor cars left unattended were marooned.
