GEELONG GRAMMAR SCHOOL BOYS
IPer United Press Association.] MASTERTON, January 10. Attractive cricket was played this afternoon, when the touring Geelong Grammar School team started a match against a team captained by D. H. S. Riddiford. The wicket was in first-class order. The visitors had first use of the wicket, and at the conclusion of the day’s play had made 258. Hay, the star batsman of the party, was in fine form, scoring freely. all round the wicket, and was run out when he had scored 100. Hawkes also batted soundly for a fine 70 against the accu. rate length bowling of Blundell (Wellington), “who sent down 33.2 overs, eight of which were maidens, for an average of seven wickets for 85. The remaining batsmen did not produce any high scores.
