To the many Dunedinites who have at one time or another lived in Fiji or have visited there quite an interesting link is fonhed by the visit'of Mrs E. A. Benjaniin, who lived for a great many years in Suva. Mrs Benjamin was born in Dunedin, but went to Fiji many years ago with her late husband, who was a member of the well-known Fiji firm of Henry Marks and Co. Ltd. She brings news'of the honour conferred on the head of the firm, Sir Henry Marks, who; at last birthday honours had a knighthood conferred on him. Since her husband’s death Mrs Benjamin has lived in Sydney, and is thoroughly enjoying visiting old friends in her native town. She is accompanied by her sister, Mrs Isaacs, of Brisbane,. '

On Wednesday afternoon Mrs Copeland (St. Andrew street) entertained guests, when several musical (terns were given. Those present wehe Mesdames Copeland, Clarke, Smith, Davidson. Mooney, Taylor, Oliver, Donaldson, Miss Beaton acted as accompanist. On Thursday Mrs D. Mooney gave an afternoon tea party at her home in Leithbank street, when those present were Mesdames Smith, Oliver, Durand, Ball, Thompson, Copeland, Donaldson. Pianoforte solos were given by Miss Beaton and ..Miss Winnie-Mooney.

Visiting Lady Bowlers Entertained. Visiting lady bowlers were the guests of the Entertainment Committee of the Otago Ladies’ Bowling Association on Tuesday afternoon, when they were taken for a motor drive to' Larnacli Castle. The afternoon was fine, and the beautiful drive was much enjoyed by those present, who numbered close on 170. Afternoon tea was served in the antique gallery’and verandahs.'and the guests were shown over the castle and round the lovely grounds, A return was made to' town late in the afternoon, the ladies being very delighted with the outing.

Parties for Visiting Bowlers. On Monday afternoon Mrs E. Falconer entertained a number of the visiting ladies at afternoon tea at the Otago Women's Club. Mrs Falconer received the guests wearing a model coat of brown, fur trimmed, and a smart hat. Musical items were rendered by Airs J. Wilkin (Adelaide) and Miss Bertha Rawlinson. Oliphant and Miss B. Rawlinsop (Dunedin). ,At the week-end the Australian party visited " The Bungalow.’ 1 Wakari, and were the guests of. Dr and Mrs A. ,R. Falconer.- The beautiful old home and garden were much admired, especially the fernery, which is a relic of the New Zealand and South Seas Exhibition, and which makes a charming vista through the French doors from the drawing room.
