RAIN AT LAST

The first real break in the prolonged period of drought in England occurred on Thursday night and early yesterday morning, when a south-west gale brought the heaviest downpour of rain experienced for several months. At Dymchurch, near Folkestone, sand which had been carried into the air by winds fell with the rain and coated houses with a wet deposit.
