MONTHLY MEETING The meeting of the Tiileri Rivor;'.lVust held yesterday was attended by Messrs T. M. Ball (clinmium), C. Findlay, H. W. Wilson, S. Snell, R. B. Teuucnt. ,W. ,1. Marshall, and F. Johnson. The Inspector reported on the work carried out during the month: —90 chains of a drain had been cleaned, also eighty chains of the new channel. A box on the pipe lino at Miller’s property had been inserted. Several pipes and a box had been put through the Lee Creek bank at Marshall’s. Mr Marshall’s gang bad finished Bathgate’. s drain (forty-five chains)-; fifty-five chains of Waugh’s drain had been shovelled out, ns well ns tho new drain from Waugh's to Hnchett’s properties. —Adopted. CORRESPONDENCE.

THE feciSNT CLASSIFICATION.

Several letters were received from the Public Works Department, the Internal Affairs Department, Mr A. E. Ansell, M.P., and the Outram Town Board dealing with the proposal, of the; trust to include in the Local Legislation Bill, 1933, clauses dealing with the hearing of : appeals against the classification made by the trust and the validation of a classification, .made on ..behalf of the trust. —The letters were received, and after discussion it was resolved to write to the Outram Town Board outlining the means of repayment ol; the interest and asking definitely' bn what grounds it objected to the validation. A petition signed by fourteen owners of land at Berwickobjecting to the amendment made, by the trust on December 4 last in the classification of lands in that district was received; The proposed amendment included in class A,, fhe portion,pf the lands lying to the west of the contour channel.—The meeting decided to take no action in respect to the petition, and appointed ,Os Tennant and Marshall and the secretary to explain matters. -A further resolution instructing the trust’s solicitors to attend the court in support of the trust’s case and call witnesses was adopted. GENERAL. The tenders for the trust’s endowments were considered.—lt was resolved to accept James'Shaw’s tender for lot 3. The other tenders for the remaining lots were rejected. , , _ The sale of a property occupied by a ratepayer who had neglected to pay his rates was referred to the trust’s solicitors to carry out.
